Favorite Olympians...

Happy Opening Olympic Ceremony Day Everyone!??
Honestly....am I the only person that could give a rats ass about the Olympics??
UNLESS... Women's Gymnastics is on?
I was watching the Women's Gymnastics Olympic Trials last night AGAIN while eating my pint of Chunky Monkey  ice cream thinking how much better the ice cream would be without walnuts in it....

seriously though...I wish there were more banana chunks and NO walnuts...that would be amaze-balls!

Anyways...no, really, as I'm sitting there being a "Chunky Monkey" watching these young, fit athletes go for their dream, it got me to thinking how much I missed gymnastics and how much I wished that I had stuck it out after High School!
Let's blame it on my College for not having a gymnastics team...or should we blame it on me for not starting one up!?
I was asked many times to try-out for the College Cheerleading team, but I absolutely refused!
It was just not the same! I could have kept up with gymnastics by joining a team at a local gym, but let's be honest...I was more interested in drinking my face off with new College friends on the weekends and practicing my 12 oz curls...

Anyways...I started looking for pictures of me doing gymnastics last night and only came across a few pictures...I think most of them are at my mom and dad's house...
Did i mentioned my parents put a balance beam and a set of parallel bars in my back yard when I was little...
yupp thats right!
Some pictures of friends and I on the beam in my backyard...

Right before our Team meet... dont mind my foot....eww...

 High School Gymnastics Team...
(I'm next to the girl on crutches...)

My crazy obsession with gymnastics began around 1996 when the U.S Olympic Women's Gymnastics Team won the gold medal...definitely bought this Wheaties's box and saved it...haha...

Who could forget Kerri Strugs amazing vault that landed her with a broken ankle and the team with the U.S Gold Medal!?
So Crazyy..

I had a crazy obsession with Dominuque Moceanu and strived to be like her everyday...she was an amazing gymnast and I even read her autobiography....3 times...
haha do you think I'm a loser yet??

Who could forget her amazing beam routines!?

She always started with her signature mount move that no one else could seem to master and/or wrap their heads around...

Here is the 2012 Women's Olympic Gymnastics Team

From Left to Right:
Gabby Douglas of Virginia Beach, Va. (My Favorite!!)
McKayla Maroney of Long Beach, Calif.
Aly Raisman of Needham, MA (Ok...from MA, so she has to be a favorite too!)
Kyla Ross of Aliso Viejo,
Jordyn Wieber of DeWitt, Michigan

Incase you're reading this...
Good Luck Ladies!!

I was a little disapointed that Nastia Liukin did not make the team after her awful fall on the Bars...
It would have been nice to have a "Veteran" on the team, but I'm sure that they will do great anyways!

My gymnastics coach actually brought a few of our team members to the 2001 Olympic Trials that were held in Boston...it was pretty neat to see...here are a few pics:

Old Vault! Crazy...

Who are your favorite Olympians!?

Also, Can you please look at the text I woke up to this morning from one of my Best Friends...
