A Piece of Cake...

Taking the Train (the "T" as we call it in Boston) everyday to work has given me the opportunity to become an avid reader.
I read about 1 book every two weeks during my 30 minute commute and sometimes even 1 book a week if I can't put the book down.

I realized I didn't really blog about any book reviews in 2012, so I figured that I would take this opportunity to tell you about an inspirational, TRUE story that I just finished reading.

Meet Cupcake:

"Cup" found her mother dead when she was just only 11 years old and was forced to live in numerous Foster homes instead of living with the only man that she had ever called "dad".
Most of the foster homes that "Cup" lived in end up being abusive parents looking for an extra
After being raped, "Cup" soon learns that she can run from these foster homes to escape her problems and fears, but instead she gets mixed up with the wrong people and she soon becomes addicted to drugs and alcohol at age 11.
"Cup" goes on to tell her story about turning tricks (prostituting), smoking crack, living behind dumpsters and even getting shot during a gang fight.

Her stories are truly crazy and you won't be able to put the book down until you turn the last page.

I won't tell you all of the details, but lets just say that the end of the book will make you truly believe that you can do anything you put your mind to.

Happy Reading!
