The Way, Way Back...

On Sunday, when I was nice and hungover from my friends amazing wedding, S and I decided to rent the movie "The Way Way Back" starring Steve Carell.  The main reason we chose to watch this movie was because half of the movie was filmed in our hometown, Marshfield.
Marshfield, aka "Marsh-Vegas"  is a small coastal town with a population of around 25,000...(straight from Wikipedia, so you know its legit..)
In the summer, the population nearly doubles due to the gorgeous beaches that we have.
(Yes, we hate you summer people!)
Since I live a mile from where the movie was filmed and I managed to distract myself with anything and everything except for homework yesterday, I decided to take some pictures and compare them to what was actually shot in the movie.

Sorry for the awful pictures off of my TV.

Remember the garage where the kid gets his bike out of?

...and No, I'm not getting out of my car to snap pics...I live here and felt creepy enough as it was!

It was next to impossible to find a picture of the front of the house from the movie, but here is a portion of the front.

That bridge that you saw the kids jumping off of?

Movie Pic:

Yup thats right, EVERYONE who is a Marshfield resident has jumped off of this bridge multiple times...even me!

The beach that the kids in the movie hang out on is known as "Burke's Beach" aka the beach that all of the High Schoolers hang out at.

Fun Fact: There is no water park within walking distance from Marshfield.
There is a water park called "Water Wizz", but it is about an hour away from Marshfield.

Hope you enjoyed this silly tidbit of information.

Knowing that the movie was shot in my hometown certainly made up for the movie sucking arss....
